Introduction:
Mingfang Lu joined IOP Publishing (IOP) since January 2002 as the Chief Representative and Editorial Manager of IOP Beijing Office. In January 2003, he was elected IOP Fellow (FInstP). And since 2007 he was promoted to IOP Editor-in-Chief – China. His responsibilities include leading the publishing team to ensure top quality papers to publish in IOP and promoting IOP value and business in the region.
Before joining IOP, Mingfang Lu got his PhD degree from Tsinghua University in 1995 on Fusion Plasma Physics and Plasma Focus researches. He then did post-doctoral researches on Plasma Materials Sciences at the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1995 - 1997, at the Plasma Lab of Department of Particle Physics, Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Israel, from 1999 - 2000, and at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna from April 2000 to December 2001. In IRF, he worked on the neutral atom detector for the Mars Express Spacecraft Mission of ESA, which worked well in the Mars orbit since launched in June 2003 and will also be on board the Chang’e-4 Moon Probe. Mingfang Lu also worked as guest professor for a short term in Nihon (Japan) University on plasma focus neutron emission researches. Mingfang Lu got his MS degree from Beijing Institute of Technology and Hebei University in 1988. He had published over 30 research papers in the international physics journals before 2002, including Phys Rev E, J Phys D, RSI, etc.
