报告题目:Photophysics at the molecular scale

报告人:Professor Hans Ågren, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University, Uppsala, SE-75120, Sweden.

报告人简介:

Prof. Hans Ågren is currently leading a research group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University, Sweden. He received his doctoral degree in experimental atomic and molecular physics in 1979 from Uppsala University and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at IBM Research Laboratory in the United States. He has successively held chair professorships at Linköping University, KTH-Royal Institute of Technology and Uppsala University. In 2016, he received the “Changjiang Distinguished Professorship” from the Ministry of Education of China. His research interests are mainly focused on developing theoretical methods for studying nonlinear optics, lasers, X-rays, magnetic resonance, nanomaterials, and multi-scale simulations. Up to now his work has received more than 48000 citations according to Google Scholar with an h-factor of 100.

摘要:

In this talk he will first give a resume’ of some not-so-recent results from our group in the generic area of “photophysics at the molecular scale” with special emphasis on use in various devices. After a glimpse on theory, he will shortly survey results for optical power limiters, organic electro-optical switches, dye sensitized solar cells and organic light emitting diodes. He will then talk about more recent results that show how photophysics can be tuned by molecular engineering in order to construct novel imaging markers. He review some basic properties of these systems in terms of conformations, organization of electronic excited states, various types of interaction modes - and how these properties can be transformed to useful applications. Of special interest here is single luminophore dual thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF); Ratiometric sensing based on TADF emission; Aggregation induced dual TADF-RTP emission (RTP = Room temperature phosphorescence) and; Long afterglow photoluminescent materials.
