摘要:The natural time scale of atoms in action is of the order of femtoseconds (1 fs = 10-15 s). Ahmed Zewail opened the route to study chemistry that occurs in the femtosecond regime and received a Nobel prize in 1999. Here, We introduce and compare two methods, Coulomb explosion imaging and photoelectron diffraction (molecular frame photoelectron angular distributions) as a tool for shooting molecular movies for isolated molecules in photochemical reaction.
The natural time scale of electrons in action is of the order of attoseconds (1 as =10-18 s). The Nobel prize of physics in 2023 was awarded to this field of attosecond science. Generations of isolated attosecond pulses at LCLS in the USA opens a new route to measure molecular core-level photoionization time delays and watch the electron (charge) in action in a molecule. we briefly discuss importance of vibronic coupling and vibronic coherence, which are known in ultrafast chemistry community but somehow overlooked in the attosecond science community until very recently.
报告人简介:上田 潔,在京都大学获得学士/博士学位,从2003年起任日本東北大学全职教授,他应用同步辐射、飞秒/阿秒脉冲、短波自由电子激光等先进光源,聚焦于包括原子、分子、团簇及纳米粒子等小量子体系的电子态及结构动力学研究,实现对光电离、电子激发态及其超快驰豫等瞬态过程的刻画与调控,在Nature (2篇),Nature Physics (4篇), Phys. Rev. Lett. (52篇) 等知名期刊上发表文章超过500篇,引用超过15000次,h-因子为57。
